CAVE CREEK CHILLI BEER

Cave Creek Chilli Beer from Arizona. The worst thing I have ever tasted.

As a little background information, I gag with pepper on my food!

MATILDA BAY ALPHA ALE

Matilda Bay Alpha Ale. In one word – terrible!

Nothing else to be said about this sad attempt at beer. It's especially sad for the fact it is supposedly an award-winning beer.

Who the hell votes in these things?

CARLTON DRAUGHT

Carlton Draught, because it's so bloody hot I don't have time to stuff around.

It tastes yeasty as all get out – like normal – and like the ad says, is beer. Nothing more, nothing less.

Think of the Draught horses on the label, they're soild, they do the job, but they're hardly exciting and are never going to win a Melbourne Cup.

MURRAY'S WHALE ALE

Murray's Whale Ale. A refreshing offering from NSW brewer, Murray’s.

This is an American-style wheat beer named because you'll have a (you know what) of a time while drinking it.

Had Murray’s on day two of the Yeer in Beer challenge last year, and it was my first ever beer from this brewery.

It is now one of my all-time favourites.

GROLSCH

My day 2 beer, the ever reliable but unsurprising Grolsch.

A fairly average beer livened up by some nice bitter hops. This is the imported one, WAY better than the stuff brewed here under licence.

COOPERS PALE ALE

This is the beer that started my year's adventure. The conversation went like this:

DAY ONE: Ok, day one I've had, Cooper's Pale Ale, Fat Yak and Grolsch.

Shane: You only need one Scott.

Scott: Yeah but see I'm up to Tuesday. Stop living in the past man. And like you're having one beer today. Pfft.

OK, So Day one is officially Coopers Pale Ale. One of my all time favourites, bottle fermented, with a bit of sludge in the bottom (I roll it to mix first), nice hoppy flavours, fruit in the background, I know from experience you can drink a lot of these.

7/10 (mostly for old times sake)
