KLOSTER SCHEYERN WEISSE HELL

Froths up a meringue-style fluffy head like it's been hit with a fluffy head-making machine and is light but cloudy. Could be nothing except a Weiss but this, from one of Germany's oldest brewers, has a twist.

It's not even remotely sweet, like most weisses tend to be.

Instead your tongue is assailed by a thousand tiny bubbles that interrupt the beer's efforts to drop down a lovely layer of flavours, including a drawn battle between wheat and barley, some gentle fruits and a touch of dill.

Terrific brewing. A good introductory Weiss for the unaccustomed or a great savouring beer for the expert and everything in between.

8/10
