UINTA HOP NOTCH IPA

The Hop Notch IPA from Uinta brewing in Salt Lake City.

So, when I asked where it was from and the waitress said the name, I thought she was asking: "You into brewing?", which was probably the point. She looked at me quizzically when I replied: "No, just drinking."

Anyhoo, this is a full blooded 7.3% IPA and it's not the beer you use to introduce novices to the whole IPA concept. Not with an IBU of 82...

It's mighty fruity on the nose, gives you about 0.2 seconds to savour all of its coriander-orange-lemon hints and then smashes the bitterness into you.

IPA specialists will love it. Everyone else will hate it.
