SAMUEL SMITH OATMEAL STOUT

Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout. Oooooh, i could drink a few of these over an English winter.

It has a lovely, hearty, earthy smell, filled with hints of caramel and porridge.

Tastes similar, too. Good honest stout, filled with nuances and lots of different hints that don't jump from one to another, but seem to blend together seamlessly.

For example, it starts on the tongue early with a strong taste of oatmeal (to get it out of the way early) before moving to malt before morphing across to a toasted caramel, then finishing with a lingering bitterness.

If you like English beers, this is a beauty.

7/10
