SHOCK TOP BELGIAN WHITE

Shock Top Belgian White. Citrus peels and coriander thrown in to a wheat beer of Belgian style made in St Louis, Missouri. By Anheuser-Busch. As its response to the challenge of genuine craft breweries in full strength, full calorie beers. Yeah, good luck with that...

It also stinks like an orange juice cannery and you have to take a deep breath before you actually lift it up and try it.

...And, you know what? It's not that bad.

It's not brilliant, but it's not the shock hit of everything-but-beer that you expect it to be. It's there, sure, but it's well contained and nicely beery, though it fades to grey deeper in the glass.

You could manage a few at a sitting and it's the sort of thing you could toss at your girl and get more than a pat on the back in return.

It's basically what a craft beer would be if it had a huge advertising budget and wasn't made with all the care and attention and passion genuine craft brewers put into their beers. That is all.
