TECATE LAGER

Mexico's Tecate Cerveza. I made the mistake of trying this on a cold, wet evening in Los Angeles, when it's essentially brewed to be hoiked down on stinking hot days spent digging up agarve plants and digging tunnels under the Rio Grande.

It has a watery mouthfeel and smells of absolutely nothing. Seriously. I smelt it, then smelt the air, then smelt it again. All the same.

I can imagine how this would be OK in a desert or a hot farmyard, but it's not sophisticated, it's light on for flavour and there's barely a hint of a hop being injured in the production of this beer. M'ah.
