ASTRA URTYP

Brewed with "love", they say. This German pils from up Hamburg way comes in a bottle so small it made my hand look huge, yet it still fills a stock 330ml glass.

And it fills it well, full of hoppy early flavours and nicely measured hit of bitterness that fades slowly in the aftertaste.

It could use more complex flavours to fill out the taste, but it's not heavy in the mouth and you get the feeling you could tackle a few in one afternoon without thinking too hard about it.

It's what mainstream brewers can do when they try (it's owned by Carlsberg, Germany).
