FULLER'S IPA

Fuller's Indian Pale Ale. This is a cracking way to start the year.

It's everything a good beer should be, with the exception of its relatively light aroma that doesn't display enough of the normal IPA fruits.

Get it in your mouth, though, and it's a beautiful balance of malts, fruits and hoppy bitterness that starts as it means to finish, staying consistent all the way along the tongue.

Yet for fans of "big" IPAs, it may not quite hit with enough bitterness. It might be just about right for everybody else, though, and it's not even the sort of thing that would frighten off the non-IPA regulars.

It pumps in at 5.3%, in hearty 500ml bottles, too. Oh, and it's bottle conditioned, so you don't miss anything the brewers planned to give you.

Damned fine drinking.
