4 PINES KOLSCH

4 Pines Kolsch, from "Prospect" Martin Beves. I've tried Kolsch style beers before and they haven't really grabbed me. So I thought I'd have another go.

This one pours a light straw colour and is quite bright.

It has a thin mouthfeel with a slight citrusy, pineapple taste. There is a strange acidic finish rather than a bitter bite.

It's OK but I like something with more flavour. It could be mistaken for a pale ale shandy.

5/10
