BEAR REPUBLIC RACER 5 INDIA PALE ALE

Bear Republic Racer 5 India Pale Ale. I may have let this warm a bit too much. The label suggests 47 – 52 F (minus 32, divide by 9, multiply by 5 is 7 – 10 C).

Pours an insipid pale colour for an IPA. Hoppy aroma, but no big floral blast that I like. OK, let’s taste it. At the first sip I was overwhelmed by this beautifully balanced hoppy beer. I struggled not to guzzle this. Lovely mouthfeel, good hoppiness and just enough bitterness to keep me happy.

Twenty years ago I would have laughed at anyone telling me that I would like warm beer.
