BEER HERE HOPTILICUS STRONG AMERICAN ALE

Beer Here Hoptilicus Strong American Ale. Anything described as American Ale tends to be very hoppy and while all reports of this concentrate on the malt it is very hoppy.

The Babylon 10 translation of the label tells me that while it ruthlessly tramples over my tongue it is brewed with Pale Ale Malt, Caramalt, Black Malt and Beet Sugar (better have a Diabetes test). Luckily they throw in some decent hops (Centennial and Chinook I believe) to lift it to 80IBU. Rich caramel malt, slightly sweet up front hoppy beer with a good hoppy bitter finish.

An excellent beer from Denmark. Hang on a minute. While the importers sticker states: “Genuine import: direct from Denmark” the label tells me that it is “Brewed and bottled by Beerhere at De Proef, Lochristi, Belgium." One of the Belgies’ better beers I’m thinking.

8/10
