BLACK SHEEP BREWERY IMPERIAL RUSSIAN STOUT

Black Sheep Brewery Imperial Russian Stout. The Russian Imperial Stout is one of my favourite beer styles, so I was keen to try this one.

It’s got a relatively thin body for the style, more like a porter than a stout. The usual chocolate flavour is there, a bit of fruitcake and a good dose of Vegemite. Being 8.5% there’s a bit of a sweet boozy aftertaste.

It’s ok but not a great beer when compared to other Russian Imperial Stouts out there. It’s missing a level of complexity.

5/10
