BODDINGTONS PUB ALE

Boddingtons Pub Ale. I always thought that a “widget” was something invented by economists to help explain why they have no idea of the real world. Apparently not; it is thing or widget that helps put a creamy head on canned beer.

When the waitress dumped the can straight into the jar, I pushed back from the table to avoid the overflow. My fear was unfounded as the 90/10 head to beer ratio quickly reversed to leave a smooth, creamy head on a clear, bland looking beer. Looks can be deceiving, but not in this case. No aroma and a thin malt flavour that would have benefited by a bit of carbonation. A very watery finish.

This a totally unremarkable beer, apart from the packaging.

3/10
