BREW DOG TOYKO IMPERIAL STOUT

Brew Dog Tokyo Empirial Stout. Wow.

You're not going to have many of these in a sitting. One is plenty, really, and not just because it kicks the tin at 18.2%.

It's such a rich, beautiful looking thing. It pours leaving you with a delicious looking glass and that's just the beginning.

You expect Imperial Stouts from Scotland, but Brew Dog being Brew Dog, it's not at all like the stodgy thing that might take four pulls on a three-foot long wooden handle to pour.

This goes through phases of awesome, from the aroma of malted, fortified red wine early on to a touch of serious deep beer later.

It will hit you with berries, then it will hit your tongue with fortified red wine and it's a bit sweet, then, until the malt arrives to save you. Later over the palate there is dark chocolate and coffee and then there is a bitter finish.

It's a thick beer and it's almost a cloying beer, but it's a delightful thing on a cold night. It's for savouring and taking your time over.
