BREWCULT CAN’T FIGHT THE FUNK FARMHOUSE IPA

Brewcult Can't Fight The Funk Farmhouse IPA. Steve ‘Hendo’ Henderson is unleashing his mad brewing creations one beer at a time. Having started with the relatively tame Hopzone IPA he progressed to Acid Freaks, a Baltic Porter with balsamic vinegar.

His next Beer 'Cant’ Fight The Funk’ is the first in a series of hoppy beers known as ‘The Psychedelic Series’. This beer brings together an American IPA and a Saison which he has dubbed a “Farmhouse IPA”.

Hopped with Citra, Columbus and Centennial it combines citrus, floral and tropical hops flavours typical of an American IPA with funky and spicy flavours and a dry finish associated with Saison yeast. It comes in at 6.2% ABV and IBU 50

Golden yellow colour, medium to light body with soft carbonation and a fine head.  The aroma is a mixture of both beer styles. Spicy and bubblegum aromas from the Saison yeast and citrus and tropical fruit aromas from the hops.

The malt takes a back seat and allows the hops and yeast to shine. Citrus, particularly lemon, floral and tropical flavours from the hops leading into a slightly spicy, bubblegum and dry finish from the Saison yeast. It tastes like a Saison with a citrus zest.

Overall, an interesting combination of flavours. Saison fans should check this one out.
