BREWCULT KEEP ON TRUCKIN’ RED IPA

Brewcult Keep On Truckin' Red IPA. Brewcult are fast becoming one of my go-to Aussie breweries. They are masters of selecting a beer style and putting their own unique spin on it. This red IPA is no exception.

Using pale as a base malt some Munich, Caramunich and Carafa was also thrown in to add some complexity, colour and body. On the hops front are Magnum from Germany, Nelson Sauvin and Motueka from NZ and Cascade from Australia. It’s 5.8% ABV which is relatively low for an IPA.

Golden pale ale appearance, slightly red but nowhere near as red looking as you’d expect. It looks more like an American pale ale. Fine head, medium body and moderate carbonation. Citrus aroma. Primarily a citrus hop flavour nicely balanced by the malt with a slightly resinous and bitter finish.

It leans more towards an American IPA or American pale ale than a traditional red ale or red IPA. The hop flavours are relatively strong and it hasn’t got that earthy malt flavour a lot of red ales / IPAs have.

Another impressive release from Brewcult.
