BREWCULT SUPA FLY RYE IPA

Brewcult Supa Fly Rye IPA. This is the second release in Brewcult’s psychedelic series. The first being their ‘Don’t Fight The Funk’ Saison / American IPA hybrid. This time around it’s an American Rye IPA alluding to the 1972 film Superfly. Known for its soundtrack, written and produced by Curtis Mayfield, it is one of few films to have been outgrossed by its soundtrack.

On the malt bill is Maris Otter, Munich, Caramunich, Chocolate malt and 8% rye. It’s hopped with Simcoe, Citra, Amarillo and comes in at 6.8% ABV.

Honey colour with a fine head, moderate carbonation and a citrus and weed-like aroma. Medium body with a crisp and dry finish . Pine from the Simcoe, tropical fruit from the Citra and citrus/stonefruit flavours from the Amarillo.  The rye adds a bit of dryness and spice to the finish. Despite the relatively strong hop flavours, bitterness and high ABV it goes down really well.  Plenty of hop flavour, crisp and refreshing without being heavy or boozy.

“Can you dig it?” Yes you can.
