BRIDGE ROAD HOP TO IT HONEY

Bridge Road Hop To It Honey. This was Bridge Road’s entry into the Great Australasian Beer SpecTAPular (GABS) 2013, a honey IPA.

Using Melbourne Rooftop Honey in the boil and a truck load of Beechworth Honey in later stages, it's dry hopped with a “solid amount” of locally grown Topaz and Galaxy hops.

As you would expect, it has sweet honey flavours but they are nicely matched with a smooth hop bitterness that keeps the sweetness of the honey in check. There’s a nice resinous quality that works beautifully with the honey.

I was sceptical, but it works. A smooth, calming, winter beer. A beer drinker’s milk and honey.
