BRIDGE ROAD SUMMER IPA

Bridge Road Summer IPA. This beer is part of Bridge Road’s single Aussie hop IPA series. You may find it in bottleshops as part of Bridge Road's The Hop School Hop Pack which includes one 330ml bottle of each the Summer, Vic Secret, Galaxy and Ella single hop IPAs.

Summer, formerly known as Summer Saaz, is a hop variety developed by Hop Products Australia in 1997. It is said to impart a gentle floral and slightly earthy character. According to Bridge Road’s malt and hop profile key this beer sits in the middle in terms of both malt and hop flavour. It’s a sessionable 4.8% ABV.

Hazy yellow with a white creamy head. Decent tropical fruit aroma. Nice mouthfeel,  medium body and moderate carbonation. Citrus and floral hop flavour with a moderately bitter finish. There’s another earthy kind of flavour I can’t put my finger on. Not very IPA-like but a refreshing drop.

7/10
