CAVALIER BREWING PALE ALE

Cavalier Brewing Pale Ale. I picked this up at the large retail chain,  Dan Murphy’s which indicates  that the microbrewery has dramatically expanded, or they are using a contract brewer. Their Facebook page suggests the former, but I am not sure.

I poured this straight from the fridge, but it still released a grapefruit blast from the Nelson Sauvin and Mosaic hops. The flavour is all grapefruit with sweetish malt and it has no hint of hop bitterness. The is a refreshing session beer with a fine balance between the fruity hops and full mouthfeel of the malt.

This very good example of an American Pale Ale could never be mistaken for an IPA and while I did enjoy all of it, I felt the need for a bitter IPA afterwards.

8/10
