COURAGE DIRECTORS SUPERIOR ALE

Wells & Young Courage Directors Superior Ale. A well travelled beer. Originally brewed for the Courage directors at the Alton Brewery and has since been brewed all over England as the breweries were absorbed by others, including the latest, Wells & Young. The early excess was sold as Alton IPA. IPA? I think not!

This is a pleasant creamy malt based beer. I can’t taste the hops required for an IPA, but I am enjoying the smooth malt mouthfeel. You could imagine the directors substituting this for Port with their after dinner cigars.

This is very tasty considering that it is not my style of beer.
