DOCTORS ORDERS IRON LUNG

Doctor's Orders Iron Lung. This is Doc’s Orders autumn seasonal brew and typically it’s hard to pigeon-hole.

He describes it as a Black Imperial Pilsner. The nuts and bolts are Pilsner, Munich and de–husked Chocolate malt combined with Columbus, Tomahawk, Zeus, New Zealand Sauvin and Citra hops. It packs quite at punch at 6.9% and 60+ IBUs.

It looks like a strong dark ale, showing a slight browny/red tinge when you hold it up to the light with a light brown head that won’t die.

Smooth, relatively low carbonation, dark chocolate and roasted malt flavours with a bitter finish.

As it warms up you can start to taste a resinous hop flavour. Despite being full flavoured and quite strong it’s very quaffable. This is a tasty and interesting beer well worth tracking down.

8/10
