DRAKE’S BREWING COMPANY INDIA PALE ALE

Drake’s Brewing Company India Pale Ale. One more excuse to visit the USA West Coast. This is brewed in the old powerhouse of a Caterpillar factory. More power.

The background timber makes this pale beer look much darker than it is, but the rich pine and citrus aroma removes any concerns that it might be bit light. It has a smooth full malt flavour topped off with bitter hops. A lovely beer.

Although I had Mountain Goat, Karl Strauss and several other US and Kiwi IPAs this would have been a wonderful beer to celebrate International IPA Day. At 7% it also gives a nice buzz.

9/10
