EINSTOK ICELANDIC TOASTED PORTER

Einstok Icelandic Toasted Porter. You don't often get beers from Iceland, so you don't expect much.

But this is actually quite good.

It's a very dark porter, pours beautifully and has everything a good porter has. There is a strong richness, a hint of coffee and a deep bitterness at the end.

It's pretty good with red meat, but it's a sampler, not a quaffer (though that's true of most porters).

So it's quite good, but not quite great. Still a surprise, though.
