EKIM BREWING CO VIKING IPA

Ekim Brewing Viking IPA. I think Vikings used to drink mead rather than IPA’s but if they were around today I’m sure they would be partial to an American IPA. A big, bold, hairs on your chest beer style. This one is 6.4% ABV and around 60 IBU.

Orange / amber colour, slightly opaque with a creamy and hoppy head.  Citrus and grapefruit aroma. Medium body moderate to low carbonation. It has a nice slightly resinous mouthfeel.

Strong citrus and grapefruit hop flavour with a lingering bitterness. The hops and malt are well balanced allowing each to shine with a decent level of bitterness. Unlike a lot of American IPAs there are no sickly or bittersweet characteristics.

A flavoursome and refreshing IPA worth checking out.
