EKIM BREWING CO VINLANDER

Ekim Vinlander. Vinland was the name given to an area of North America by Norse Vikings when they ‘did’ America around 1000 A.D. This beer is described as being an American-style porter. Centennial hops were used in the boil and dry hopping. Fermented with American ale yeast it’s a respectable 6% ABV.

Very dark brown colour with a fine light brown head. Great chocolate and roasted malt aroma.  Medium body and low carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel. Chocolate malt flavour with a bit of roasted malt bringing that classic dry porter feel with some hop bitterness cutting through the malt. The hop flavour seems to be lost in all the malt.

A good beer but it offers nothing remarkably different to a typical robust porter.

7/10
