FERAL BREWING SLY FOX

Feral Brewing Sly Fox. The year 2013 will be remembered as the year of the ‘Summer Ale’. It seems every brewery is jumping on the “Summer Ale’ bandwagon by releasing a highly sessionable beer that blurs the boundaries between lagers and ales.
Western Australia’s Feral Brewing has released a Summer Ale called ‘Sly Fox’. It is a new addition to their permanent range and the first of their range to feature new branding. They describe it as “a golden, lightly filtered ale that has a low bitterness but retains the brewery’s signature floral American hop aroma”. They are tight lipped about the hops used but given the citrus and tropical flavours it could be something along the lines of Citra, Galaxy, Amarillo and Cascade.
It’s a light yellow colour with moderate carbonation and a fine head. Tropical aroma with a light to medium body. It has a nice tropical fruit and citrus flavour. Crisp and refreshing with a moderately bitter and slightly dry finish. It has a more substantial mouthfeel and body compared to other Summer Ales.
A fruity, refreshing and sessionable ale that would go down a treat on a hot day.
8/10
