FOUNDERS BREWING CO. CENTENNIAL IPA

Founders Brewing Co. Centennial IPA. Founders Brewing, Grand Rapids, Illinois not to be confused with Founders Brewery, Nelson, NZ. Apparently this beer was selected as the benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification program in the USA. Shit, it must be good.

It looks OK and has a wonderful fruity hop aroma. The first sip gives a floral hop blast that follows with a hint of lavender. Lavender? That’s different. The malty backbone gives a very enjoyable sensation as your swirl this around before swallowing. It may the after effects of the Green Curry that I had earlier, but the finish seems a little too dry.

A benchmark beer? Not sure, but it is good.

8/10
