GARAGE PROJECT DEATH FROM ABOVE INDOCHINE PA

Garage Project Death From Above Indochine Pale Ale. Originally brewed for the GABS, this beer not only breaks the Reinheitsgebot, it vaporises it when trying to merge US and South East Asian cultures.

Brewed with the USA flavour of Chinook, Centennial, Citra and Amarillo hops and a large teabag containing dried Mango and Birdseye Chili plus Vietnamese Mint and Lime Juice. Fellow Beerio Michael Taylor may be quivering with rage at this point, but I have tried beers with varied ingredients before and I’m not sure if this surpasses the Monkey Wizard Steampunk with Ambergris.

It has the colour and head of a good IPA and the aroma is fresh, fruity and spicy. The first sip is very hop resinous with a faint hint of chilli heat and the freshness of the mint. While this might lack a full malty mouthfeel, the hops start to dominate and leave your mouth with a thick resinous coating. I like it. A dry bitter finish has me wondering why I didn’t buy more.

None of the previous beers with extras had me rushing back, but I will be looking for more of this.
