GREEN FLASH BREWING IMPERIAL IPA

Green Flash Brewing Imperial IPA. “All about the hops!” it says on the label. A San Diego IPA brewed with Summit and Nugget hops.

Quite pale in colour with fine detergent-like head. Surprisingly, it has more of a grainy malt aroma than a hop aroma. Medium mouthfeel, smooth with soft carbonation. Sweet grainy malt flavour, almost honey like, with an earthy tobacco flavour and a bittersweet finish.

At 9.4% ABV it’s quite strong and suffers from a high level of sweetness which high ABV beers often have. It’s a bit too sweet and I’m not a fan of that tobacco hop flavour.
