HARGREAVES HILL PALE ALE

Hargreaves Hill Pale Ale. I didn’t recognise this beer at first because they changed their labels sometime in mid-2013. (See Graeme’s review for the old logo.)

This is an American-style pale ale brewed with Cascade hops.

Standard pale ale appearance slightly opaque due to the yeast. Citrus, floral and pine aroma. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Citrus, little bit of pine with a slight tobacco aftertaste. I wonder if the tobacco flavour has come from dry hopping? It’s quite refreshing and at 4.9% it would be a good session beer.

It’s a couple of steps above your average beer but not quite good enough that you would track it down especially.

7/10
