HARVIESTOUN OLD ENGINE OIL PORTER

Harviestoun Brewery Old Engine Oil Porter. This has a rather viscous pour and does indeed look like used engine oil.

The aroma of roast coffee and chocolate carry through to  a rich full flavour. It is not hard to detect the hops and even a hint of sour fruit to round out the wonderful heavy feel in the mouth.

Odd that this porter feels much heavier and rewarding than many stouts. I’d like to write more, but I am too busy savouring this lovely beer.

8/10
