HOLGATE MT MACEDON ALE

Holgate Mount Macedon Ale. I thought this was an English style ale so I’ve been avoiding it for some time. Much to my surprise it’s actually an American pale ale. Mt Macedon is located near the brewery hence the name.
Brewed with Vienna malt and hopped with Nelson Sauvin, Amarillo and Citra it’s a sessionable 4.5% ABV and IBU 26.5.
Golden colour with a thin head and moderate carbonation. Caramel malt and citrus aroma. Light, crisp and refreshing. The carbonation produces a tingling on the tongue. The Vienna malt gives a light biscuit / caramel malt flavour and the hops deliver a crisp citrus and slight pine flavour. It has the refreshment of a lager and the flavour of an American Pale ale.
This would go down well at a BBQ.
7/10
