HOPDOG RED MENACE

HopDog Red Menace. This is a brew is a collaboration between Hopdog and Black Dog Brewing. They describe it as a rum barrel-fermented imperial brown sugar red ale. Whatever it is, it clocks in at 8% ABV and 90 IBUs.

Dark amber colour with the trademark fine detergent-like head of a hoppy beer. Has a sweet malt aroma. Smooth and resinous mouthfeel with a mix of sweet malt and citrus flavours. Resinous finish, more so as it warms up.

It’s tasty enough but not as interesting as it sounds.

7/10
