ILLAWARRA BREWING OATMEAL STOUT

Illawarra Brewing Oatmeal Stout. What’s better than a good stout? A good stout on nitro!

Without getting overly technical, instead of using straight carbon dioxide to carbonate a brew, with this beer they used a mixture of nitrogen (~70%) and carbon dioxide (~30%). It creates a thick, long-lasting head with a beautiful smooth and creamy texture. That’s why Guinness has that smooth, creamy head to it.

Jet black with a nice creamy coffee coloured head. Dark malt aroma. Smooth, luscious mouthfeel. Choc malt backed up with some bitterness to keep it in check. As it warms up it becomes more chocolately.

A great dessert style stout.
