IRONHOUSE BREWERY OKTOBERFEST 2013

Ironhouse Brewery Oktoberfest 2013. When I was in Hobart, I popped into a bar called Jack Greene. There was a great beer selection including a range of very nice American ales but they were pricey, at around the $20/bottle mark. Then I noticed this Oktoberfest beer brewed by Tassie brewery Ironhouse.

Apparently it’s brewed with “generous amounts of Munich malt” and hopped with Hallertau and Saaz.

It was quite dark in the bar so I couldn’t really see what it looked like. But it had a nice mouthfeel and body to it with an appropriate level of carbonation. It had that trademark German lager flavour with the addition of a mild chocolate malt flavour.

Not bad at all.

7/10
