JAMES SQUIRE ONE FIFTY LASHES PALE ALE

James Squire One Fifty Lashes Pale Ale. With a name like that you’d expect something with some clout. But, alas, this “pale ale” tastes more like a bland lager.

It looks promising, slightly opaque with a decent head to it. The first warning sign is that it has virtually no aroma. There is the slightest malt flavour followed by a big schooner of nothing.

Somehow they have convinced the masses this is better than the run of the mill commercial beer. Maybe because there isn’t that beery taste or metallic aftertaste a lot of Aussie lagers have. I’d drink VB over this.
