LAGUNITAS A LITTLE SUMPIN’ SUMPIN’ ALE

Lagunitas a Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ Ale. A heavily wheated IPA that allegedly contains three kinds of wheat and every hop beginning with “C”.

It has a very orange, copper appearance that lacks the wheat cloudiness. The aroma is interesting; piny hops and a candy sweetness unfortunately reminiscent of a Belgian Golden Ale. The sweetness pops it head up in the tasting, but is overpowered by floral hops with the expected grapefruit prominent. Quite a tasty beer that would benefit from some bitterness. OK, it is bitter, but not IPA bitter.

I keep reciting the label with my best Tommy Lee Jones voice and it did improve the final tasting. Very enjoyable.

7/10
