LITTLE CREATURES BREWING IPA

Little Creatures Brewing IPA (India Pale Ale for the uninitiated). I was a bit apprehensive about an IPA from this craft/commercial brewer who had been resting on their Pale Ale laurels for a few years.

It looked pretty good and had rich fruity aroma. The initial flavour was grapefruit with a bit of apricot and reasonable bitterness. I checked the label. Only 6.4% ABV. By my observations a New World (or West Coast) IPA needs to be above 7%. It must have loads of hops and then a decent amount of malt to smooth out the bitterness. This just fell short of being a great IPA.

The best session IPA that I have come across. The resin starts to flow as it warms. I should have bought a case rather than a four pack.

8/10
