LOST COAST BREWERY & CAFÉ INDICA IPA

Lost Coast Brewery & Café Indica IPA. “& Café”? A little research (Google actually) reveals that the name isn’t the only odd thing about this brewery. Founded in 1990 by a couple of beer-loving women, in a hundred-year-old building that they bought from the original owners (look it up).

Although this is unfiltered it is typical of an excellent West Coast IPA. It has a deep copper appearance with an almost blinding white head, citrus hoppy aroma, a resinous hoppy taste and a clean bitter finish.

This might be a bog standard West Coast IPA, but it is one more excuse to visit California. Oh, and their artwork does take me back to the 1960s.
