LUNDABRYGGERIET DJINGIS IPA

Lundabryggeriet Djingis IPA. You talk to the man at the bar and if you can say the name, you're too drunk to have another one.

And you're doing even better if you can explain to anybody why there's a beer made in Sweden in a style designed for India and named after Genghis Kahn.

Still, it's a light-looking thing on the pour and, true to its rural Swedish root, smells a bit of fresh berries, cut wood and wet fir needles.

It tastes a little odd at first and I imagine it would be quite the acquired taste. It's a great palate cleanser, actually, because it's not as bitter as many more traditional IPAs and its hoppiness seems a bit fruitier than the norm. Plus its hop levels aren't so strong that they overwhelm the maltiness.

Not sure I'd rush back for more if there was anything more interesting around, but at 6.5%, you wouldn't need to...

6/10
