MOOR BEER COMPANY HOPPINESS IPA

Moor Beer Company Hoppiness IPA. Moor Beer? Moor Hoppiness? Yes please. I was expecting a low floral note English IPA, especially after popping the cap and having no steam or aroma. Then I noticed the “Enjoy at 12 degrees C” and quickly used the 50 year old Grace Building Supplies bottle opener/resealer that I appropriated from my father.

On my return, it may not have been 12C but the difference was staggering. A blast of fresh cut grass, a well formed head and I was away. Taste of hops and bitterness, and malt to give a satisfying low carbonation mouthfeel with an enjoyable finish on the back of the tongue. The website states that this is not one of their “Everyday Favourites” , but a “Rare Treat”. I tend to agree.

One note of warning that I missed. It says “Pour gently”. The second glass was full of sediment, and while I might need the Vitamin B, it did ruin the taste slightly.

Who knew that the sheepshaggers of Somerset not only made good cider, but also good beer. “Drink MOOR Beer!”
