MOOR BEER COMPANY JJJ IPA

Moor Beer Company JJJ IPA. At 9.5% ABV this is an Imperial IPA. The recommended drinking temperature is 12 degrees and it did not bode well when I allowed it to warm and popped the cap to the sound of nothing. I sniffed the bottle and was rewarded by a big hoppy aroma. It might be OK.

It poured dead flat, no hint of a head. It smelt great with not a sign of toffee that high alcohol beers tend to have. The taste was all hops and malt; a wonderful beer that would have benefited by a touch of carbonation.

The Triple Js are the brewers, rather than the Australian radio station, and they claim that this is a triple, rather than double IPA. It needs more carbonation to truly make it great.

7/10
