MORNINGTON PENINSULA BREWERY IMPERIAL IPA

Mornington Peninsula Brewery Imperial IPA. Part of their speciality range is this Imperial IPA which they describe as “an IPA on steroids”. At 8.5% ABV and 120 IBU this is a beer that packs some serious punch.

Reddish honey colour with a fine detergent-like hoppy head. Moderate hop aroma. Smooth and resinous with a complex mix of citrus, pine, earthy, floral and weed-like hop flavours.

The hop flavour and resiny goodness lingers in the mouth for a long time. But when it’s gone you want more. The malt balances the hop flavours beautifully, which is quite a feat, given the high IBU.

If you love beer with plenty of flavour you should definitely track this one down.
