MORNINGTON PENINSULA BREWERY SAISON

Mornington Peninsula Saison. It seems a lot of Aussie brewers are embracing the Saison beer style.

A stack of Aussie breweries including Illawarra Brewing, Doctors Orders, Brewcult, Moo Brew and Bridge Road have released various incarnations of Saisons. One of Sydney’s newest breweries Shenanigans Brewery even chose a Saison as their debut release. Mornington decided to release a Saison as part of their speciality range.

Typical Saison appearance - opaque yellow colour with relatively high carbonation and medium to light body.  Strong banana aroma. It tastes like a Hefeweizen with banana and clove flavours dominating. It’ missing that spicy, tart and dry finish you’d expect in a Saison.

Not a bad beer but not a great Saison.

6/10
