MOYLANS OUR DARK SECRET

Moylans Our Dark Secret. This beer was originally a three-way collaboration between Moylans from the US, Nøgne ø from Norway and Hargreaves Hill from Australia for Good Beek Week 2012 in Melbourne. This time round Moylans brewed it all by themselves.

It’s a Double Black IPA brewed with malts from Europe and the US and with Galaxy, Stella, Summer and Victoria's Secret hops from Australia. Despite the use of Aussie hops it has an American style IPA flavour and comes in at 8% ABV.

It’s quite light in colour for a black IPA, murky light brown with a fine brown detergent-like head. It has a beautiful pine aroma with medium body and carbonation. Chocolate malt flavour with a bitter pine and dark chocolate flavour that lingers. A nice balance between malt and hops, plenty of flavour without over doing it.

8/10
