MURRAY’S MOON BOY GOLDEN ALE

Murray's Moon Boy Golden Ale. I have to admit the hipster on the tap decal doesn’t instil me with confidence. I prefer beers with flavour rather than trendy labels. The name ‘golden ale’ is thrown around a lot these days. Whilst there are some good ones there’s an equal number of bland, lager-like ones.
Moon boy was brewed with a very light German Pilsner malt and the New Zealand hop variety Pacifica. It’s a sessionable 4.5% ABV.
As it’s unfiltered it’s naturally cloudy and looks like Coopers Pale Ale. Medium body, moderate carbonation with a nice mouthfeel. Light grainy malt flavour and slightly dry finish like a pilsner.
A sessionable quaffer that does the job but a bit light on flavour.
6/10
