OAKHAM ALES CITRA

Oakham Ales Citra. Their website doesn’t classify this single hop beer and although a beer review site claims it to be an American Pale Ale, I have my doubts.

Like their Green Devil IPA it has the thin, clear look of a Pilsner. The aroma is crisp citrus fruit rather than floral and while the flavour is pleasant spicy hops with a hint of resin it really lacks a smooth malt mouthfeel.

While I enjoyed this, I felt that a bit more effort with the ingredients and some balance it could be so much more. Yes, I know it’s not an IPA, but the “Canon” was wasted on this.
