PAULANER HEFE-WEIZEN

Paulaner hefe-weizen. Big in Bavaria, the Paulaner hefe-weizen is Paulaner's biggest selling brew, made with a mix of wheat and barley malts and top fermented.
Be careful to wash your glass, lest the fluffy head get out of control when you pour it. It's a well-known byproduct of this well-known beer from one of Munich's Big Six.
It also smells hyper sweet and tastes that way, too. With its hints of syrup and honey on the nose, it delivers a beautiful cloudy amber colour thanks to its unfiltered brewing process.
There are lots of fruity flavours in it, and it's very sweet and refreshing. I'm not a weiss bier man and I could stomach this, but not more than one. Even if the Bavarians have it for breakfast.
It's one of the best of its type. I don't overwhelmingly enjoy it, but I can recognise the quality of what they've done here. Shame it's 49.9% owned by Heineken...
