RED OAK ORGANIC PALE ALE

Red Oak Organic Pale Ale. This is an English style pale ale brewed by Red Oak who were one of the early players on the Sydney craft beer scene.

When I tried this back in the day I thought it was a great beer. However, the addition of “organic” in the name and bragging “Australia’s most awarded brewery” shows marketing has taken over.

Thin body and the head dies quickly after pouring, It looks quite pale almost lager-like. Virtually no aroma. Tastes like a lager. Thin mouthfeel, slight sweet malt flavour and very bland. As it warms up it starts to get that earthy dirt English hop flavour.

Given the price and the hype this is really nothing special.
